I'm not really seeing the problem. The MKZ is an old person car made by an old person brand. They are highly likely to Landau it, or want one that's already been Landau'd.

It's awesome.
I loved the ride I got in one, and it's the fusion, which we all love but with bigger motor and nicer interior, what's not to like?

Isn't the engine the same as the Fusion? Just the V6 in the Fusion which kind of sucks in the world of V6's?

There isn't a V6 in the current generation fusion.
So you can get a 4 cylinder, a turbo 4, 4 cylinder hybrid or an all electric in the fusion.
Being able to order the V6 in the MKZ is a kick ass upgrade.
Highest hp/torque for the Fusion is the 2.0 Turbo at 240 hp 270 lb ft
highest hp/torque for the MKZ is the 3.7L V6 at 300hp 277 lb ft.
not much torque gain, but its a huge 60 hp increase.

That's not a landau. It's just a full vinyl top. Landau tops just cover the rear section of the roof:
They are supposed to ape the old Landaulettes:

Definitely not the first, spend any time around an area with a good concentration of 55+ communities, and you'll see at least one. Most modern cars look horrible like this, but even a CTS will pull it off better than an MKZ, what with the shiny black plastic trim on the trunk that artificially extends the size of the rear windscreen. If they HAD to do this, for some ungodly reason, they could have at least painted that part body color. If you can't afford to do it right, just don't do it at all.
